I met Divya and did my first Fruity Walk in 2021. Having Divya reveal trees that I didn’t think could grow in the uk was a wondrous experience.

I had a (mostly) feral childhood in Zimbabwe. Surrounded by avocado trees with fruit the size of my head. Guavas that I plucked and ate straight from the branch. And hours spent collecting silk worms from mulberries. Seeing these trees so far from their homes was a dizzying nostalgic flashback.

I thought such a unique project needed a considered identity. So I set this branding project as a live brief for my design students at Middlesex University.

Divya fell in love with the logo created by Lina and we developed the identity from there.

The palette is inspired by the trees. The fruity characters evoke the wonder of the walks. And the identity tries to match Divya’s joy (though this was hard).
